Speaking of Rebekah, she has a new EP out today. There is a video for the title track, Quit My Habit, and two other tunes. You can also listen to the whole thing and buy it on her Bandcamp page. She recorded with a band and the result has a very good sound, leaning a little toward country music

It seems to me a higher percentage of Native people turn to artistic expression whether it be through music, visual expression, or writing and I think it would be good for the rest of us to pay more attention to the stories they are telling.

Two pieces in particular are by Howard Cable. Right off the top is his arrangement of O Canada, which the band, in its Orillia Wind Ensemble years, played soon after it was written. The band will also do Hockey Night In Canada, which was also fresh off the printer back in 2002 At that earlier concert both were conducted by Cable.
