I was taught a priceless lesson that summer, a lesson that has been a guiding principle I have followed religiously all my life.

People do get attached to barnyard animals and I understand that, although getting all googly-eyed over a chicken does seem to be a trifle weird.

Once Australians figure out why the water in the toilet flushes the wrong way, it won’t be long before they get electricity and someday in the distant future, TV movies.

But what if a thousand years from now, all men look like Doug Ford? Or worse, what if they look like me?
