Plows Are Off The Roads, You Should Be too

By John Swartz

The City of Orillia declared a significant weather event Sunday morning.

“Due to the accumulation of snow and poor visibility and for the health and safety of crew members, Orillia plows and sidewalk machines have been removed from the roads and sidewalks at this time. Staff will continue to monitor conditions and resume snow clearing procedures once it is safe to do so.”

The City says some roads are impassible. The City will have updates on its website when road crews are back on the streets.

The Weather Network is forecasting snowfalls like Christmas Day morning to last until 4 a.m. Monday, and light snow with scattered flurries lasting until noon on Tuesday.

In the mean time, keep your phones charged and shovel every few hours so it doesn’t become back breaking.
