Foundry Park Design – Have Your Say

By John Swartz

The City of Orillia is having a public meeting about what Foundry Park should look like, specifically the skateboard park portion of it.

Foundry Park is the land surrounding the Orillia Recreation Centre.  The skateboard park is proposed, but not budgeted. Consultants retained New Line Skatepark will be on hand to speak about trends n skateboard parks and possibilities for Orillia’s. Also included in the discussion is a playground.

It’s a workshop format and attendees will have an opportunity to give input and express ideas. Those who are skateboarders should be attending.

The meeting starts at 6 p.m. on the multi-purpose room at the Orillia Recreation Centre, but anyone can drop in up to 8 p.m. Those who cannot attend tend, an online survey will be available from September 22 to October 7 (this story will be updated with the link when it is available). For more information contact John McMullen, manager of park planning at 705-325-2060 or jmcmullen@orillia.
