Sunshine Initiative Citizen’s Forum

It’s fall and time once again for the Sunshine Initiative Citizen’s Forum.  It’s happening Saturday, October 26 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at St. James’ Anglican Church.

The 5th annual forum was started by a group of people headed by Orillia mayor Steve Clarke. Each year ideas from the community are generated. Big ideas like putting solar panels on the Orillia Recreation Center to smaller ones like the Repair Café happening at the Geneva Event Centre in November have emerged. To date 111 ideas have been generated and 26 have been implemented. Ideas pitched at the last Orillia’s Choice Awards will be given time for updates.
