Downtown Grows By Two

By John Swartz

Last weekend’s Summer Block Party, organized by the Downtown Orillia Management Board, had lots of activity and music. It also had the debut of two new stores, the Northern Joinery Makers Market at 23 Mississaga Street East, and 6 Doors Up Interiors at 96 Mississaga Street East.

Beth and David Shaw operate the Makers Market, featuring handmade tables from solid planks, inlaid with coloured epoxy, and the items made by over 30 other area craftspeople.

Kristopher Orchard and Jamie Campbell opened their second store in the downtown, 6 Doors Up (the other being OC Emporium Inc.) and specialize in designing original furniture. They have a staff of interior designers and local trades they work with for small or large projects.
