Front Street Closed To Through Traffic For Three Weeks

Dry soil conditions have meant crews working on the Front Street reconstruction project have to dig wider trenches for the new sewer trunk line. This means driving lanes which have been open to through traffic have had to be narrower and The City of Orillia has determined the room available for driving lanes has affected safety of drivers and work crews.

Beginning Monday Front from King to Elgin will close for 7 business days, and then Elgin to Colborne will close for 7 business days. The intersection at Elgin will only be closed for 4 days during that overall time period. Access to businesses will be maintained.
