Green Haven Valentine’s Fundraiser
Press Release
Local businesses across Simcoe County are participating in a fundraiser this Valentine’s Day to support programs and services run by Green Haven Shelter for Women for survivors of genderbased violence. Businesses are encouraged to design and donate candy and organize sales among staff at their place of business for the two weeks prior to Valentine’s Day. Green Haven will supply gift tags.
If you and your team would like to participate in the Candy Grams You’re Cravin and support the Green Haven Valentine’s Day fundraiser, contact Natalie Harris at cdm@ghws.ca or 705-619-1591 for details and registration.
Also, come by Zehrs in Orillia on February 11 and 12 to celebrate the love in your life while also giving back to your community. Zehrs is partnering with Green Haven Shelter for Women to sell single red roses in honour of Valentine’s Day. This year a rose is not just a rose – all funds raised will stay in Orillia to support women and children fleeing violence and abuse.
Treats will also be available for shoppers that weekend. Valentine’s Day cupcakes will be sold for $2 each, as well as Valentine’s Day sugar cookies from Starbucks. All proceeds from the sales will go directly toward programs and services that support survivors of gender-based violence in Simcoe County.
The Green Haven Shelter for Women team will be on site that weekend to connect with the community and raise awareness of the work being done by the charity. Stop in to make a donation, purchase a Valentine’s Day treat, or drop off basic shelter needs in support of the work being done by the shelter.
