Video: Orillia Santa Claus Parade
The Orillia Chamber of Commerce organized annual Santa Claus Parade returned after a two year hiatus because of the pandemic.
Instead of happening on the third Sunday of November as in the past, the parade was moved to Saturday and to a 5 p.m. start.
The weather cooperated, with temperatures just below freezing, a very light breeze and no snow to trudge through.
It wasn’t the brightly coloured affair of past yeas, but the addition of lights on floats allowed entrants some new creative avenues with their float designs.
The follow up awarding of prizes and trophies normally takes place at the next Orillia Council meeting, which would have been November 28, however the meeting date has changed to December 7.
