The City of Orillia announced Friday the organizational structure of the administration is being reorganized. The changes place some current standalone departments under one of 6 categories and will be effected over the course of the year.
The changes are prompted by findings from the City’s recent Municipal Core Service and organizational Review and the Companion Strategic Plan.
The new structure looks like this:
• Corporate Services/Legal Department Clerks, Financial Services, Information Technology and Real Estate.
• Community Services Department Parks Planning and Development, Youth, Recreation and Culture.
• Environment and Infrastructure Services Department Municipal Infrastructure, Environment, Water/Wastewater/Stormwater, Operations and Solid Waste.
• Business Development, Communications and Strategic Initiatives Department Economic Development, Corporate Communications, Marketing, Tourism and Strategic Initiatives.
• Development Services and Engineering Department Transit, Corporate Engineering, Planning, Housing, Legislative Services including Building and By-Law.
