The City Would Like To Have a Word With You

By John Swartz

The City of Orillia has a couple surveys happening right now. One is to get feedback for patrons and businesses about last summer’s See You On the Patio program. This was a program the emergency recommended council agree to fund. One of the feedback questions asks if the downtown pedestrian mall should return in 2022 and what form it should take. The survey ends at noon November 5.

The City is also asking for input about downtown traffic and parking. This information will help the process for reconstructing downtown streets. The study area includes all municipal parking lots downtown and on the waterfront, so aside from the what we think of as downtown the survey area extends north to Borland Street and south to King Street.

While most of the questions are about parking, there are some questions related to walking and biking. You can do the survey until November 15.
