Annual Used Battery Pick-Up Next Week
The City of Orillia’s annual used battery pick happens November 2 through 6 on your usual garbage day. Put AAA through 9 volt size batteries and watch type batteries in a clear bag and leave it on top of your other blue box items.
This weekend is when clocks get set back one hour, which means it’s time to replace batteries in smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, and then put the used batteries out with others you’ve been saving just for this opportunity.
This is a household only pick up. Apartment residents and businesses with large blue bins on rollers should not put batteries in them. Batteries can always be taken to the landfill for proper disposal. For more recycling information, call 705-325-3522.
