The Roots North Music Festival is ramping up plans for the April 23-25 festival in Orillia by announcing today the first act to appear. Begonia, the stage name of Alex Dirks, will be bringing her acclaimed music to the festival.
Dirks was part of the Juno winning Chic Gamine before going solo in 2017. That year her album, Lady in Mind, was NPR’s top ten artists you need to know and the song Juniper was #1 on the CBC.
Her new album, Fear, was co-produced by Matt Schellenberg and Matt Petters, and Marcus Paquin (Arcade Fire)
