By John Swartz

Sustainable Orillia is joining similar groups in communities around the world observing 24 Hours of Reality: Truth in Action, by organizing presentations about climate change.

Bruce Nagy

A seminar Wednesday at 7 p.m. in Orillia council chambers features Bruce Nagy, who has worked with Al Gore. He has a video by Gore to show and will speak about practical ideas about climate change.

Dr. Charles Gardner, the SMDHU medical officer for health, will talk about how carbon neutrality will affect health. Gabriella Palapos of the Clean Air Partnership will speak about the social and economic benefits of carbon neutrality.

Dr. Ellen Field of Lakehead University will present the results of her research showing 2/3s of Canadians and 3/4s of teachers believe schools should be doing more to educate about climate change. Steve Clarke will also speak.

There is an admission charge of $19 for adults, $10 for students.
