OMAH 20th Anniversary

The Orillia Museum of Art and History started celebrating their 20th anniversary year last Saturday with the opening of the OMAH @ 20 exhibit. About 60 people were on hand to hear Jean Sarjeant and Don Ross tell stories abut the founding and early days of the museum, winch formed from a merger of the Sir Sam Steele Art Gallery and the Orillia Historical Society.
Mayor Steve Clarke extended best wishes, spoke of the importance of the museum to Orillia, and brought news council had earlier in the week approved a grant to the museum,
The exhibit features some items from the artifact collection such as a grandfather clock that once graced the foyer of the Tait home, and Alex Colville prints. The exhibit is open to March 31.
Additional museum visitors got to see the almost 4 dozen pieces in the annual student art exhibit, My World, My Eyes, My Voice in the Lounge Gallery.
