Will the people of Orillia, of Ontario, of Canada, of the world—take up this challenge? Do we really want to imagine the world that will result if we don’t?

Nicholas’s epiphany about her own culpability first surfaced at a conference she was attending in Vienna in 2012.

Most distressing, given the urgency that so many around the world say is needed, is the waste of five years of opportunity to take the actions the world and its young people are expecting from governments at all levels.

A second piece of good news from the conference was an agreement by 150 countries to reduce methane emissions by at least 30% by 2030.
