More Sustainable Orillia Month

By John Swartz

Sustainable Orillia’s Sustainable Orillia Month is bleeding over to November. They presented 8 online webinars in October and have one more November 12 at 11 a.m.

It’s all about salt, the kind we put on roads and sidewalks. Representatives from the Lake Simcoe Regional Conservation Authority, Severn Sound Environmental Association and Smart About Salt will have presentations about how much salt is prevalent and how to use less and maintain safety.

Register for details how to watch. There is no charge to participate and if you miss it, it will be available later, along with the other webinars, on Sustainable Orillia’s website.

Also, until November 8 you can watch the documentary 2040 for free, as many times as you wish. It’s about a hopeful vision of the future with innovators and change-makers in economics, technology, civil society, agriculture, education and sustainability with solutions to climate change available now.

The doc is being made available to Sustainable Orillia by EcoFair Toronto, Green 13, Climatefast and For Our Kids. You will learn about renewable energy projects agriculture practices and many other things people around the world are engaged in and the possibilities to reverse climate change.
