How To Stay On Top Of City Business

Press Release

The City of Orillia has many ways to stay informed, engaged, and connected with the City.

Council Meetings and the CivicWeb Portal

Regularly scheduled meetings of Orillia City Council take place twice each month except for February, July, August, and December, which will have one meeting begin at 2 p.m., subject to inclusion of Public Planning meetings or other special Council matters.

Regular meetings will take place in the Council Chamber at the Orillia City Centre and may be streamed online on the City’s YouTube channel.

Meeting agendas are available online on the Orillia CivicWeb Portal the Friday prior to the Council meeting date. The Orillia CivicWeb Portal allows users to stay up to date on Council and committee information, including the following:

  • Upcoming and past meetings with agendas and minutes, as well as by-laws and policies.
  • View timestamped video feeds from Council, Committee and Public Planning meetings.
  • Review the weekly Council Information Package.
  • Inspect the Declarations of Interest Registries for Council, Boards and Committees.
  • Locate contact information for members of Council.

Communicating with Council

There are several ways to communicate with Council as a whole or with individual members. Residents or organizations who would like to appear before Council for a deputation can make a request to the Council Services Division. The public can also request to speak during the Open Public Forum portions of the Council meeting regarding a matter listed on the Council agenda or a matter within the City’s municipal jurisdiction by registering with the Council Services Division up to four hours prior to the meeting start time. Request forms are online.

All written correspondence to be considered for placement on a Council agenda should be addressed to Mayor and Members of Council and can be dropped off or mailed to the Orillia City Centre, or emailed to councilservices@orillia.ca.

Residents can also contact their Councillors or Mayor by email or telephone directly. Details on how to communicate with Council are online
