Rotary Downtown Classic and Custom Car Show In Photos

By John Swartz

By mid-afternoon the skies were overcast for the 2024 Rotary Downtown Classic and Custom Car Show.

Mississaga Street from Albert to Front was clogged with vintage classic and newer model custom cars and light trucks. It was also full of people.

Rotary’s Mike Davenport (who said he had too much fun all day zipping up and down the street in his golf cart) said earlier in the afternoon there were so many people it was difficult to get up and down the street.

At about 3:30 p.m. a few drops of rain fell. Not much, but you know how in the movies when someone flips on the lights in an old unused kitchen you catch the insects scurrying for the cracks in the walls? Well, the exodus of cars was kind of like that.

Not all car owners hit the highway, but there were enough leaving at the same time, it was almost like a scene out of Police Academy.

In the end a few drops of liquid is all it amounted to.

Enjoy a gallery of some of the cars on display.
