Sunday’s OPP Traffic Plan
The Orillia OPP are notifying residents and visitors to the City of Orillia of expected traffic disruptions due to the public visitation for Gordon Lightfoot.
The visitation will take place May 7 from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at St. Paul’s Church, located at 62 Peter Street North. Anyone wishing to pay their respects is asked to attend the entrance to St. Paul’s Church by way of Neywash Street. (Carson Doolittle Funeral Homes offered their parking lot as a point of entry to St. Paul’s for pedestrians to line up and vehicle parking)
Because of the number of people expected to attend, Peter Street North from Coldwater Road to Neywash Street will be closed to vehicle traffic between 12:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. The OPP will be on scene for traffic control.
Orillia Transit is changing the path of the Laclie Street route for the duration. See the map.
Anyone not attending the visitation is asked to avoid Coldwater Road between West Street and Front Street for the duration of the visitation.
