Leacock Medal Shortlist Announced

The Leacock Associates have announced the long list of books in the running for this year’s Stephen Leacock Medal for Humour. The panel of reader/judges couldn’t agree on the tenth book to make the list so there are 11. There were 84 books submitted for consideration.
The shortlist of three authors will be announced May 1 and the medal awarded June 5. Because of the situation regarding COVIMD-19, the award weekend festivities in June have been cancelled. This includes the annual Student Humourous Essay Award. The shortlisted authors and winner will be invited to the 2021 award dinner to be formally recognized.
The award conceived by Charles H. Hale and first awarded in 1947. These are the authors and books making the shortlist:
