Grant Deadline Approaching
The City of Orillia’s Downtown Tomorrow Community Improvement Plan grant program application deadline is Oct. 31, 2019. One of the requirements for applying is a consultation with staff, primarily to determine eligibility. The City is making that part easier by holding a workshop Thursday, September 27 at 6 p.m. in the Brooks Boardroom at City Hall.
Businesses, developers and community members will learn about the grant application process, eligibility, and timelines.
Representatives from the Community Development Corporation will also be there to give information about their grant programs and support services.
So far in 2019, $120,000 has been granted to various projects in the downtown. There is more than $75,000 left in the 2019 grant budget for this year. Examples of projects that could be covered are signs, façade improvements, renovations and expansions and creation of residential units.
